Monumental Grace launches the Sword Sharpening Podcast

Exciting News: Launch of Our New Podcast!

Introducing “Sword Sharpening” — A New Daily Scripture Reading Podcast from Monumental Grace

We are excited to announce the launch of a brand new daily podcast from Monumental Grace called Sword Sharpening.

Beginning June 1, we will start our first monthly reading journey through the book of Colossians.

The idea behind Sword Sharpening is simple:
Instead of rushing through large portions of Scripture or following a reading checklist, we slow down and stay in a single book of the Bible for an entire month. By reading the same book every day, patterns begin to emerge, doctrine becomes clearer, conviction deepens, and the truth of God’s Word begins to settle into the heart.

This podcast was inspired in part by a Bible study method encouraged by John MacArthur, who often spoke about the value of repeatedly reading individual books of Scripture in order to truly know them deeply and accurately.

For many people, daily Bible reading can be difficult. Life is busy. Quiet time is hard to find. Some people learn better by listening while driving, working, exercising, or sitting quietly with their Bible open. Sword Sharpening was created to help make consistent immersion in Scripture easier and more accessible.

Each month, we will focus on one book of the Bible:

  • Listening to it daily
  • Learning its structure and flow
  • Understanding its context
  • Hiding God’s Word in our hearts
  • And becoming better equipped to encourage others with biblical truth

We are intentionally starting with smaller New Testament books as we build the habit together. Our first reading begins June 1 with the book of Colossians.

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword…”
— Hebrews 4:12 (LSB)
